1 John 4:17
And as we live in God, our love grows more perfect. So we will not be afraid on the day of judgment, but we can face him with confidence because we live like Jesus here in this world.
You are only who you are and where you are because of who He is. There is no way you could even exist without His will for you to exist. You are made in His image and He is proud of the reflection of Himself that you show the world. Whether you know it or not, you are chosen and you are known. Each person is a gift from the Father and that gift is a piece of Himself that He wants to show the world.
We are all in different places in this world, outside of our physical location, we are on assignment to our jobs, to our family and to those we influence. We are all given an amazing assignment from the Lord a destination where we are going to dig our heels into the ground and plant ourselves. This isn't a physical location, but it is an assignment where you are going to use your calling and have the greatest influence on the culture surrounding you. Whether this is in a stadium sharing the gospel with thousands, starting your own business, or being the best parent or friend, it is you walking in your destiny.
Every person goes through a time in there life where they don’t know what they are put on this earth to do. This happens especially when kids are going off to college and they have to choose a career. This happens when the kids are grown and now the parents don’t know what to do next. This happens to everyone, in different seasons in life, and it's not just a one and done. We need to know what we are called to and where we are going…
As I said earlier, you are made in the image of God. You carry a piece of Him. When you are walking positioned in Christ you are displaying Him to those around you. The way you are going to find out who you are, where you are called to, and how this is going to happen, is when you completely find yourself lost in Him. You need to get to know the Father's heart well. How do you do that? Well, how do you get to know anyone? Spend time with Him. Spend time communicating with Him. Learn to pray. Let Him show you things about Himself through His word. Read through the Bible as if it is God showing you His characteristics. Find out what His name means. Find out how you relate to Him.
Why do you spend time with a person? Well, you get to know them, and as you get to know them, you get to trust them with your family, your friends, and with your secrets. With EVERYTHING. The amazing thing is that the King of the Universe is the one who is wanting you to get to know Him. This is never a one-sided relationship. He wants to communicate with you. Just wait with Him. Just quiet yourself and be with him for a while. You aren't not doing anything when you are waiting. You are building trust, you are building a relationship, you are building faith, you are leaning on every word that He says. As you wait, you are finding what you are here to do. As you seek His heart you are finding out who you are and seeing what you are called to do on this earth for His glory.
But that the world may know that I love the Father.
If you are waiting to step fully into your calling and doing nothing or if you are just trying to figure out what that is and doing nothing in the waiting, then there is something wrong. If you are doing nothing, you are in a serious trap. That trap can be a habit, that trap can be a lie that you aren’t worthy to be used by God, that can be the trap of self-doubt. You may have come to believe the lie that the destination is your identity instead of Jesus. Get to know Jesus. Get to know what He says about you. Get to know who you are and what you are called to by getting to know Him. Get to know others who know Him and surround yourself with them so that they can help you as well.
There are those times in our lives where we don’t see where we are in our journey in this life, we can't see what that place is or if we will ever find that place where we are called to. So in those times...
